Large volume scanners are used for quickly digitising large components or scenes. These scanners typically sit on top of a tripod and scan radially out from a rotating mirror. Most systems are accurate to within 1-2 mm, however sub millimetre systems are available such as the Surphaser. You can find out more about long range scanners on our 3D Scanning page.
