SIMON BAYNES MP EXPLORES TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION AT OR3D IN CHIRK
Simon Baynes, the Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, visited OR3D on 27th October. The visit served as an opportunity for Mr. Baynes to witness the work being undertaken by OR3D in CT Scanning, 3D Laser Scanning, Geospatial, Robotics and their partnerships with leading technology companies including esteemed software company Oqton. OR3D is a recognised platinum partner to Oqton, distributing their leading software for reverse engineering, medical and inspection work flows as well as offering training across the UK.
OR3D, situated at the picturesque offices at Brynkinalt Business Centre in Chirk has been a prominent player in the 3D technology sector since its establishment in 2011. Founded by Managing Director James Earl and Operations Director Alexis Earl, OR3D has grown to become a centre of expertise for tailored technological services, employing a team of 12 professionals and hosting York University students on work internships.
The visit included an insightful discussion between Mr. Baynes and James Earl, delving into OR3D’s history, current projects, and business strategy. He was also given a tour of OR3D’s offices, including the CT Centre, R&D and their recently acquired third office for training as the UK’s only CT training provider for Volume Graphics.
One of OR3D’s notable achievements lies in their use of drones for large infrastructure inspections in challenging environments. OR3D conduct survey work for Bridge Inspections, Civil Engineering, and Manufacturing Sites saving companies time, cost and increasing employee safety.
James Earl, Managing Director of OR3D, shared his thoughts on the visit, stating:
