OR3D, the UK and Ireland authorised partner for RX Solutions, has announced the UK launch of RX Solutions’ FAB Series and Metrology Series industrial computed tomography (CT) systems, alongside the appointment of Hashim Ahmed as CT Sales Manager. Together, the moves mark a significant strengthening of OR3D’s industrial CT division – extending the company from CT inspection services into the supply, training and lifetime support of complete CT systems.

As RX Solutions’ authorised distributor for the UK and Ireland, OR3D offers the manufacturer’s full range of high-performance CT systems – from the compact EasyTom S to the large-volume EasyTom XL and the open-architecture UltraTom — backed by UK-based applications support, training and service. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Annecy, France, RX Solutions designs and assembles every system in-house and is recognised for precision, reliability and innovation across the aerospace, automotive, electronics, additive manufacturing and medical sectors.

Two series, two distinct jobs

At the heart of the launch are two purpose-built families that answer two very different questions: how to bring CT onto the production line, and how to make CT a certified measurement tool.

The FAB Series brings industrial CT onto the shopfloor. Built for uptime and throughput, it combines sealed X-ray tubes, IP54 protection, automated and robotised part loading, and VisionAI for fast, consistent OK/NOK decisions. Native OPC UA connectivity links each system to MES, IIoT and robotic cells, with every scan logged for full traceability – enabling unattended, 24/7 inspection that can be run by non-specialists.

The Metrology Series is engineered as a true dimensional measurement system. Certified to VDI/VDE 2630-1.3 and ASME B89.4.23, it delivers traceable, repeatable measurement with a defined Maximum Permissible Error, linear encoders with backlash compensation, ±0.5 °C thermal regulation and a certified 100 mm ball-bar for daily verification. Results remain traceable to international standards including PTB, NIST and LNE, and comparable across systems and over time — for measurement teams that need to certify and defend their dimensions.

A single partner for everything CT

OR3D is positioned to support manufacturers across the full breadth of computed tomography. The appointment of Hashim Ahmed as CT Sales Manager reinforces that commitment. Hashim brings over seven years’ experience supporting customers across multiple industries with inspection and metrology systems, including CT and X-ray. He will lead OR3D’s CT systems business across the UK and Ireland, helping manufacturers identify the right platform and prove it on their own parts.
